What makes the Chicago 452 unique:Today, we are excited to present this incredible piece from Elgin National Watch Company — the Chicago 452. Originally manufactured in Elgin, Illinois, in 1924, this watch features a single-sunk dial with a golden art deco design. Some slight aging on the dial gives this watch character, paired wonderfully with our Machined Titanium case. If the dial isn’t enough to grab your attention, take a look through the open back. Powered by 17 ruby and sapphire jewels, this 345-grade watch contains nickel, gold-plated gears and a bridge plated inscribed expertly with Elgin’s name. As you tilt the watch in the light, you can see the machined pattern move across the build plates, which is absolutely stunning. To tie it all together, we’ve added our Moss leather strap which pairs beautifully with the gold details on the dial. This watch was originally manufactured in 1924, the same year that two U.S. Army planes, the Chicago and New Orleans, completed the first around the world flight in 175 days, covering 26,000 miles.
